OUR PRIMARY INDUSTRIES
Queensland’s primary industries are worth approximately $11 billion per annum and contribute significantly to the economic growth of both regional and urban communities. Around 139,000 Queenslanders are employed in primary and associated industries accounting for 7.5% of the total Queensland workforce and 8 per cent of Queensland’s economy.

Queensland’s primary industries have been and will continue to be a vital contributor to the State’s economic growth. The sector is an integral part of the economy and by harnessing the rapid advances in science and technology, has the potential to grow significantly and play a vibrant part of Queensland’s future.
